Giveway Thataway

I am having SO MUCH FUN with a site Paul found for me called Postcrossing. I collect postcards, but I'd like this site anyway: you send postcards to random people, and different random people send postcards to you. Hm. That does not sound like so much fun when I type it out, but I LOVE this thing and think you should try it. Even PAUL is trying it now, after seeing how much fun I was having.

If you want to try it, I'm giving away a "starter kit" over at Milk & Cookies. And when I say "starter kit," I mean I'm taking five blank postcards from my stash, adding five 94-cent international-postcard-rate stamps, and calling it a kit.

This sounds like so much fun...and I love the little updating thingy that shows when someone recieves or sends one.

Heh. We're soulmates.

The company I work for, I KID YOU NOT, is called "The Postcard Factory". We're a souvenir company all over North America; turn over your postcards, they might be ours! ;-)

Would you like some postcards, m'dear? wonderworrier@gmail.com

Wow, I love getting mail that doesn't involve junk or bills. But, I'm not sure how this will fit in with my house purging attempts--extra paper to organize and all. Hmmm....

And c'mon folks, there has to be more of you that want to take the Billabong dress off my hands! Stop by my site and enter!

I was listening to CBC radio the other day and the speaker was talking about the last time he wrote a letter. It had been such a long time. He then mused that he suspects that all of us, when we open our mailboxes, are not going in there for the bills or the flyers, we are going there to find something especially for us. A letter, a note, a card that makes us feel like someone out there was thinking about us.
It's a great idea. Thanks for pointing it out.

Jen- YES, I love the idea of Bookcrossing! Paul and I used to live in a bigger city, and we found a Bookcrossing book a couple of times, and we left them too. It's so funny---like being part of a secret underground society!

Ooh, I haven't had a pen pal since I was in second grade. This sounds like fun. I can see how after getting one card you'd be addicted.
